A note from the Director and Senior Occupational Therapist, Kathryn.

'I am passionate about creating real connections with people to develop creative solutions.
Providing quality rather than quantity is a priority to me, as is matching my skill set with client need to ensure the best outcomes.
After graduating in 2003 with a Bachelor of Applied Science (Occupational Therapy), I have close to 20 years of clinical experience working in the health, aged care and disability sectors with adults of all ages. I have been fortunate enough to work in a variety of clinical and non-clinical roles across the country and have purposely sought different experiences to build my knowledge and skills.
My career commenced in my home town of Whyalla with a combined SA Health Occupational Therapy role in Aged Care, community and regional outreach.
An interstate move to Queensland allowed me to enjoy Occupational Therapy roles with Queensland Health in Rockhampton and Cairns, working across clinical areas of Aged Care, Burns & Plastics, Vascular & Lymphoedema, Orthopaedics & Surgical, Brain injury & Stroke, Community disability and establishing day rehabilitation group programs.
To gain further varying experience I then moved again to NSW accepting an initial role with NSW Health as a Chronic & Complex Care Coordinator, successfully obtaining a large grant to establish health programs within a rural NSW community, and then a further role establishing Occupational Therapy services to 3 regional NSW towns which included a leadership role in Pressure Care and Falls Prevention.
At the beginning of 2020, I made my way back closer to home, working within Central Adelaide Local Health Network in the Renal Service, Burns Unit and NDIS Assessment Team.
I have worked with the NDIS since it's inception both in NSW and South Australia and offer a wealth of knowledge around the scheme.
Establishing Life Design Therapy Co has been about sharing this experience to assist individuals to utilise the amazing profession of Occupational Therapy to live their best life, by their design.
